V.O.C.U. – An Army-like Cues for a Budding Employee
Novice, neophyte, new kid on the block and/or the likes, these are the terms alternately used to call someone who’s still on the process of making his way out to the world. Everyone passes through this stage, that’s why we have this so called “first time “ experiences. In this first phase of journey, if not all, many had encountered difficulties in taking a leap on their chosen careers.Few are confused and many are misdirected.
However, to clear these doubts out and have a sensible direction, attention! Scroll down and ponder.
Valor
Necessarily, as an aspiring employee, we must have spirit in doing our job. Given the freewill and faculties, we can use these to function accordingly. We have to think twice, thrice or as much as we can, if we are ready to take risks. Venture, for a fact, in a globally competitive scenario, those who are afraid of strife and stiff competition are the ones left behind.Face your fears squarely. Have the confidence and trust.
Like armies in the battlefield,”No retreat, no surrender”, and aim for a medal for valor.
Objectivity
Set objective and goals. Generally,it is to atleast reduce or avoid prejudices and/ or biases. Cling on to verifiable data as ought to be.. Do not take sides, present facts and let others give their verdict. Be responsible in reporting opinions. Be systematic, observe and obey steps in order not to get lost.
Like armies in the battlefield, always follow orders!
Campaign plan
As defined by Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms, it is a collaborative strategic operation plan within a given time and space. It is the demonstration of efficiency and effectivity in accomplishing tasks. It is outcome-oriented.Just like in any career, a subordinate must be willing to work under pressure and produce an excellent output in a short span of time. In addition, since it is a collaborative effort, consider your colleagues. An individual may work individually but bear in mind the value of teamwork.
Like armies in the battlefield, “Time is gold” and as possible, work with your buddy!
Unauthorized Commitment
Simply to say, an action that is not binding with the Terms of Agreement of any job institutions is a big No! As new to the workplace, review and understand fully the policies, rules and regulations, protocols ( whatever you call them) and avoid committing Breach of Contract. These actions may lead you to legal pursuits that will or maybe affect your future career plans.
Like armies in the battlefield, non- obeyance of the rule, you’ll be fired!
Like, love and live your work, take this as a reminder to hinder you from going back to zero or as you were!
